Destiny Rise of Iron The Dawning Festival is here!
The Dawning Festival is in full swing!. With the festival brings some new and exciting changes to the game, as well as a couple of old favorites that have been long awaited. Make sure you get in while you can because, with the end of the Festival (Jan. 3rd) comes the end of most of the “coolness” that the Festival brings. The Dawning Festival is exclusive to Destiny: Rise of Iron owners, so if you want to take part in the festivities, make sure you pick up Destiny: Rise of Iron if you don’t already own the expansion.
Let’s get right into what you can expect with The Dawning Festival. Once you spawn into the Tower for the first time, take a quick second and view all the cool new additions to the Tower setting. The Snowy overlay, glowing lanterns, and the huge hanging snowflake design. This version of the Tower is honestly one of my favorites that I’ve seen so far. After having a look around, head to Eva Levante so she can give you the Tower quest, “In the Presents of Friends”. Finish the quest and she will reward you with a Felwinter Souvenir and a Snow Dreg. Both are 30 minute masks that you can wear to help get in the Festival spirit.
The Dawning Festival also brings back The Sparrow Racing League. This was one of the things I was most looking forward to. I didn’t have a chance to play in year one (was crushing some Fallout 4) so I’m glad it’s back. So far it has been super fun and a nice change of pace from the usual Destiny game-play that we’ve been working with since the release of Rise of Iron. Even after the Dawning Festival has come to an end, Bungie has promised to add Sparrow Racing to the Private Matches playlist. This is just an all around good idea on Bungie’s part so, kudos on that move.
While you are at the Tower, head to Zavala and pick up another new addition to the game, Vanguard Elite bounties. These Elite bounties will work a lot like the House of Judgement bounties in that, they’ll require you to get certain types of kill streaks and rewards in order to complete the bounties. Zavala will offer Weekly Elite Bounties and you will also be able to pick up Daily Elite Bounties from the Bounty Tracker. Completing the Weekly Vanguard Elite Bounties has a chance to bring you the best thing about the newest Destiny content….The return of everyone’s favorite Exotic Sniper, The Icebreaker. Once you turn in a weekly Elite Bounty it has the chance to turn into the exotic bounty for the year 3 Icebreaker. It’s not a guarantee that you will get it so you may have to endure some RNG before you get the bounty. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Don’t forget that you will be able to take advantage of all the new additions and record all of you progress with the Dawning Festival’s Record Book: Competitive Spirit. Rank up in the book and get some cool rewards along the way. Get your cool rewards and if you don’t get everything you asked for then just head to the Eververse Trading Company and spend some of real life money. Also check out the Silver Dust vendor between Tess and The Postmaster. You can now pick up those ornaments that you haven’t been able to get from the lovely RNG. AreYouGaming will be doing its best to keep up with all the new content so stay tuned the AreYouGaming YouTube Page for more info as we uncover it. Until then check out the Dawning Festival and tell us what you think in the comments.
