Destiny The Taken King Expansion
Destiny’s second expansion, The House of Wolves, was just released and thanks to a leak by Kotaku.com, Destiny The Taken King Expansion seems to be right around the corner and this one is going to be a monster. The Taken King DLC (the confirmed title of the third expansion) is rumored to be released on September 15, 2015 and is priced at $39.99. Now before you throw your laptop, phone, or tablet against the wall in a furious rage, This DLC is going to contain almost as much content as the original game with 12 story missions, 1 new raid, 6 new crucible maps, and 4 new strike missions. Bungie has definitely learned its lesson from their first expansion, The Dark Below, which didn’t include a lot of content short of Crota’s End. With The Taken King DLC announcement it now seems that The House of Wolves was designed to give players a fun and challenging way to upgrade all their gear in preparation for what seems to be Destiny 1.5.
If that is not enough to warrant the huge price tag Guardians are finally getting their third subclass giving every class the ability to pick any element. And the crowd goes wild! Now that we have composed ourselves. It is obvious that if you are reading this and …had to compose yourself… then having a third subclass is something that Destiny players have been looking forward to since alpha testing began in 2014. Now dreams are finally becoming a reality. Very little is known as far as the skill tree will look like, but the Guardians super abilities have been leaked. Warlocks will receive an arc class and will have an electrical storm as their super. Titans will have a flaming hammer super which will complement their solar spec. Hunters will receive a void spec and their super will be very similar to the golden gun but will be a gravity bow instead. Obviously, these classes will have all new grenades and such, but Bungie has no comment on Destiny The Taken King Expansion leak. Little else will be known until the Sony presentation at E3 where I am sure this will be a huge part of their presentation.
If you follow us at @areyougaming you know that we are very excited about this new DLC announcement and I personally can’t wait to get all the details. While $39.99 is a pretty high price for a DLC pack, at least Bungie is including the most content thus far seen since launch. Destiny The Taken King Expansion may just be the DLC pack that players have been waiting for this whole time. Get suited up Guardians because Ornyx is coming to get revenge for his son’s death. And he brought an army.
