The Division 1.8 Update New Gear Score Explained
The Division 1.8 update new gear score has raised a lot of questions. We are hear to try and explain some of those questions. The most concerning of which is, do I need to get all new gear? In short, you do not. The new gear score that will be debuting in the 1.8 update, is not a power increase to the games gear system. Instead, it is more of an in depth analysis of what a piece of gear’s value could actually be. We figured this would still raise some questions so, let’s take the time to break it down because I know we were a little confused at first.
The Division 1.8 Update will bring a new gear score of 286. Since the new gear score number is higher than the current max gear score (which is 256), people are wondering whether or not they will have to grind for all new gear, all over again. The answer is no. The new gear score in not an increase in the power of the gear system, but rather, it is an indicator to how powerful a piece of gear is at the current power levels. What this means is, once the Division 1.8 Update in here, all of the gear you currently have, will be given a new gear score (between 256 and 286) that will reflect the level of quality of that particular piece of gear. In short, the more min/maxed your gear is, the closer to 286 that piece of gear will be; with a max score of 286 for a completely min/maxed piece of gear.
Let’s give an example to help breakdown the division 1.8 update new gear score.
Say right now, you have a back pack in your stash that is completely maxed on all of it’s stats. With the maximum: armor, firearms, major attribute and minor attribute. First off kudos on having such a sweet piece of gear, but second, that piece of gear has a gear score of 256 right now as well. When the Division 1.8 update arrives, that piece of gear will then have a gear score of 286, without having to do anything to it. The new gear score will be a numbered value of how good a piece of gear actually is. The better the stats on your piece of gear now, the higher gear score it will have in the Division 1.8 update new gear score.
Also, with the Division 1.8 Update new gear score, there will be a new way to re-calibrate all of the stats on one piece of gear. You heard that correctly. You will be able to re-roll your gear to have it completely maxed out on all of it’s stats. During the “State of the Game” stream, the developers lovingly referred to this new re-calibration station as, “the optimization station”. It will be at the new Camp Clinton safe area and it will cost Division Tech in order to do the re-calibrating. Not much more is known right now about this new re-rolling method, but we will keep you posted as soon as we hear anything new.
The Division 1.8 update new gear score will be a little easier to understand once 1.8 gets here but we hope we helped. As soon as we get any new information, we will try and get it out to you agents as soon as possible. Thank you for taking the time to check out our article.
