Mortal Kombat X Annouced
NetherRealm Studios has graced the gaming world with the new Mortal Kombat X trailer that features the gore-tastic and body breaking violence the franchise is known for. The box art for the game has also been released, showcasing the ninja poster boy, Scorpion (no surprise there) looking dirty, undead, and cut throat. Though the trailer is an eye candy of CG face slaps and X-ray closeups, it’s too soon to tell what the actual gameplay graphics will be. Of course graphics will be dependent on whatever console is used for playing, but it is safe to say the game is not 100% next gen and will be available for Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Hopefully NetherRealm Studios will throw another trailer our way so we can see first hand what the game is all about.
The game is expected to be a “fully connected experience” where it’s you versus the world, literally. Mortal Kombat gamers will have the chance to test their might and see how many killer combos they can slap people across the world with in the online battle to be top dog. Mortal Kombat X will also be introducing new characters representing both good and evil and for the first time players will also be able to choose different variations of each character in both combat style and strategy.
Warner Bros. is said to be promising a “cinematic” presentation of the Mortal Kombat X game. Kind of hard to take their word for it when the last cinematic presentation of the franchise resulted in two movies that belly flopped and left Mortal Kombat fanatics with a salty taste in their mouths. Whether or not this will be a flawless victory for the company has yet to be seen.
No actual release date has been announced, but the game is scheduled to be released some time next year. Those looking to get their paws on the game can pre-order MKX which is available now.
More of MKX is to come with E3 just around the corner, so stay tuned to areyougaming.com for the latest news.
