New Hearthstone Expansion: Goblins vs Gnomes
Blizzard is having a great end of the year with Warlords of Draenor selling over 3.3 million copies and climbing. Blizzcon was a huge success with the announcement of Overwatch, a new title for the gaming giant with an intro so good that looks like it was made by Pixar. Hearthstone became an instant eSports hit and has been dominating on Twitch.tv for months. Early December Hearthstone is receiving its first true expansion entitled Goblins vs Gnomes. The new Hearthstone Expansion will feature over 120 new cards and will introduce a new mechanic called Spare Parts. All the new cards will be available immediately after release through the Shop, Arena, and from crafting. The price for card packs has not changed and can still be obtained with gold and/or real money. This new expansion will rifle Blizzard into the New Year way ahead of the pack with some very solid releases that will continue to make battle.net the place to find quality games.
Mechs is a new minion type that is very prevalent in Hearthstone: GvG. Acquiring Spare Parts allows for players to modify these mechs granting them special abilities. Spare Parts cost 1 mana and can be used on any minion on the board but only 2 can be used on a friendly minion. However, unlike most enhancements, Spare Parts generate random effects and may not always be the one desired. When they do work however, they can create devastating attacks. For instance, Mimiron makes an appearance in this new Hearthstone expansion and if you have three mechs out with the head on the board then they will form V-O7-TR-ON. Once combined this new mecha gains charge and windfury with four attacks. Piloted mechs are another new concept introduced in Goblins vs Gnomes. Piloted mechs have minions inside them that eject from the cockpit after the mech is destroyed. These ejected minions are random, but add a fun chaotic mechanic and tests the players skill.
Hearthstone: Goblins vs Gnomes looks like it will be a lot of fun. The new mechanics and minions are really going to change the way people design their decks and will reward veteran players with their years of experience. Many of these new cards are going to have to be learned on the fly and only the most versatile competitors will be able to take full advantage of everything that Goblins vs Gnomes has to offer. Prepare yourselves for the next evolution in the world of Hearthstone.
