Since the release of the Xbox One, gamers all around the world have been taking advantage of the gameplay recording feature by simply saying “Xbox record that.” These videos normally can only be viewed through the SmartGlass app or through the Upload Studio app on your Xbox One. However, now there is another way.
Reddit user Cadab created a website called xboxclips.com where it is possible not only to watch your own videos, but any Xbox One users videos as well. Simply enter a gamertag in the search field and it will bring up all of the gameplay videos of the Xbox One games saved by that user. Now you can stalk your friends and see if they have secret tech that they are saving for the tournaments. Or show off videos of awesome kills in Titanfall to all your pc gamer frenemies.
The site is very new and still not one hundred percent complete so some glitches could occur. However, I used the site for a while today and did not run into any issues. If you do encounter any glitches or have any suggestions, Cadab has let users know that he is open to these comments and suggestions which you can leave him on his Reddit page.
Even though not an overly complicated page, it is nice to see Xbox One fans filling in the gaps that Microsoft has left by forcing us to use SmartGlass. I will be following the progress of this page over the coming months and am excited to see what new features are added. I think a great addition to the site would be categories outlining the best clips of the week. Best kills for FPS fans, best combos for FGC fans, and best overall bloopers to help show off users epic video game achievements and follies. It is also a question that if this site continues to gain popularity whether or not Microsoft will develop a website of their own or just add this feature to their existing SmartGlass application. Will you be using this website? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
