The Last Guardian may make an appearance at E3 2015
The Last Guardian has been one of the most anticipated games for, going on, 6 years now. But, according to “The Guardian“, a U.S. and International news website, this title by Team Ico may be making an appearance at this year’s E3. The statement says,
“Yes, we know it has been in development hell since 2007, but we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it’ll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone’s guess.”
Now what does this mean to anyone who has been waiting for this game since Ico and Shadow of Colossus came out? It most likely means that we will get some sort of teaser to the next development from Team Ico. Our thought here at areyougaming.com is that, since the introduction of the next gen systems(PS4 and Xbox One), there will have to be a completely different development approach to any game that started it’s development in 2007(that’s how long we’ve been waiting). Seeing The Last Guardian at E3 2015 would certain put a “win” in Sony’s corner (assuming they are involved) and would breath new life into the lungs of the community that wants to see Team Ico “wow” us once again.
If there is going to be an appearance at this year’s E3, then it will make our trip to the expo that much more enjoyable. Kotaku.com.au posted an article back in December that contain an interview with game creator Fumito Ueda. In that article he talks about how things have been “ironed out” with Sony and that they are moving forward and making progress with these “completely new conditions”. It sound like the team is now making the move to the next-gen system/systems and they are now having to build on an update platform. If this is true then it can only mean that the brilliance of team Ico will have a better chance to shine through their artistic medium and we will get to see there ideas and creativity come to life. It might sound a bit cheesy, but I was extremely impressed with their previous titles and have been eagerly waiting for their next installment….for 9 years.
I am keeping my fingers cross that there will be some progress and maybe a release date for The Last Guardian, but I am not holding my breath. After being let down for 6 years, you start to take news like this with a grain of salt…but a gamer can dream, can’t he.
