Titanfall Updates for the future and New DLC in May
Anyone that has played Titanfall upon release obviously is aware that this game was released unfinished and it had seemed that EA had learned nothing from their Battlefield 4 mess that occurred merely a few months ago. However, Respawn Entertainment, the company responsible for Titanfall, have to be given credit where credit is due. They have been very active in putting out quick patches for the game to improve its performance and to add features that make the game feel more complete. The last major patch that came out added private match gameplay to allow for friends to join matches with each other as well as tournament play to be possible. This is a necessity in this day and age of gaming and for the esports community. Respawn Entertainment has also gotten tons of praise from the Titanfall community not only for their speedy patches but for how well they listen to the players suggestions and quickly implement them in the Titanfall updates. As an avid reader of forums myself I was impressed with how many comments I had read in the forums just last week and noticed those these changes were in the future patch notes, i.e. decals and color customization for your titans (included in the upcoming DLC).
“We’ll keep you better informed between updates, and we’ll deliver free updates to you on a regular basis,” stated Game Director Steve Fukuda in his blog, “We are constantly tweaking our support plans in response to your feedback, and although we cannot promise everything requested will go through, we are listening.”
Often gamers feel that suggestions in the company’s forums fall on deaf ears or take months or even years to be implemented into the game. It is a very refreshing change to players for a company to be so tapped into fans suggestions and to implement them with such efficiency and in a very reasonable amount of time. Whether it is due to Respawn’s youth or their love for the fans their praise is deserved and they are definitely taking steps in the right direction for the longevity of Titanfall.
Following suit in the accelerated Titanfall updates, Respawn Entertainment announced the first DLC pack for Titanfall yesterday called, Expedition. This DLC is scheduled for May and include three maps that take palce after Titanfall’s campaign. “Swampland” one of the most hyped maps has a large number of trees which allow for very unique wall runs, (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets Attack on Titan). The second map, Runoff, which is connected to Swampland has lost of pipes and water and thirdly is War Games, which is the map that is in training mode.
The expansion will be $9.99 or free if you are a season pass owner. Quick DLC like this is what many other companies fail to produce and with so many shooters available right now it is another smart move by Respawn to keep gamers interested and excited about the new franchise.
