Warlords of Draenor Hotfix Holiday Treat
World of Warcraft players got a pre-Thanksgiving Day treat with a Warlords of Draenor hotfix that went live on November 25th, 2014. This hotfix was released to address a few issues with the latest patch 6.0.3. While hotfixes are done on the server side and don’t require any content to be downloaded it is recommended that players restart WoW to guarantee the patch takes effect.
Many of the changes in this current patch had to do with Class changes and Talents that were not functioning correctly. Breath of Sindragosa is now working correctly and Plaguebearer will now properly extend the duration of diseases when activated. For Monks, Chi Explosion visuals should now be easier to see and the volume of the sound effects have been increased. Paladin’s, on the other hand, had the volume for Beacon of Light turned down as to not distract healers while trying to heal in dungeons.
Crafting professions received an upgrade as all crafted gear received an item level boost. Crafted Tier-2 weapons now have an item level of 645, Tier 3 weapons have an item level of 660, and Tier 3 gear has an item level of 670. This makes crafting professions even more valuable during the early days of this new expansion. While everyone is trying to gear up for the new raid, Highmaul, these crafted items are sold for quite a lot in the auction house and can make players that have fully leveled crafting professions quite wealthy.
Many class tuning and changes occurred with this Warlords of Draenor hotfix as well. Orcs racial now decreases stun duration by 15% instead of 10%. All damage-over-time effects in PvP have been reduced to 24 seconds and may no longer have its periodic damage extended past 30 seconds. DOTs in PvP have been considered overpowered by Blizzard since release and have been now adjusted to balance out PvP encounters. Arcane Blast and Pyroblast both received significant dps boosts and even though being considered overpowered by players since The Burning Crusade. Monk tanks got a considerable increase as Brewmaster’s Guard ability now absorbs 100% more damage making them an even better tanking choice for upcoming raids.
This recent Warlords of Draenor hotfix has helped to improve on an already great expansion. Although players are truly waiting with baited breath for patch 6.1, which was hinted by Blizzard to lift the flying ban in Draenor. No timeframe has been given as to when that will be released though. Warlords of Draenor is in a very good place as far as progression right now and Blizzard will be very mindful of their timeline in releasing new content. Many guilds have just begun raiding recently so upcoming adjustments to these instances will most likely be on the horizon. Expect a few more patches and hotfixes before any announcement of patch 6.1.
